Man Charged With ID Theft, Series Of Burglaries, Police Say

Dutchess County resident William A. Pascal, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 27, by Town of Poughkeepsie Police on five counts of burglary, said Capt. Michael O’Dowd.

According to O'Dowd, the department made the arrest following two investigations in which Pascal allegedly entered a storage unit rented by the victim on numerous occasions between Dec. 2019 and Jan. and stole property.

In addition, Pascal was also charged with grand larceny and identity theft from an incident on Jan. 22 where a different victim had a debit card stolen and used to withdraw money from a bank account, O'Dowd said.

Pascal was also wanted by the U.S. Marshalls Service on an outstanding warrant from U.S. Federal Probation.

During a search following his arrest, Pascal was found to have a quantity of cocaine and was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance.

He was remanded to Dutchess County Jail without bail.
